WHERE TO GO
Sale or purchase invoice → Date
Step by step
Confirm the date on the source bill.
Enter that date before saving the new invoice, or open the existing invoice for correction.
Review the affected item’s later stock history, especially when editing a purchase.
Save and check the result for any date or stock validation error.
Review the relevant period’s item ledger, profit report and party statement.
What to check
- The document appears in the intended reporting period.
Things to know
- Backdated purchases and corrections can change historical weighted-average costs and profit.
- Claim settlements and reversals have additional stock-date restrictions; a normal invoice date does not override them.
